Saints Row pre-orders are up for grabs, but there are so many different editions of the game - our overview will show you what's what
There’s still time to get your Saints Row pre-orders in if you want to get the game on its release date and grab a few pre-order bonuses along the way. It’s been nine years since the last new Saints Row game, so no doubt there’ll be a lot of people who are keen to finally get their hands on some more Saints Row goodness.
Unsure about going for the Saints Row pre-orders? Well, if the most recent instalments were a little too wacky for your tastes, then the fact that this reboot seems to be more of a return to the tone of Saints Row 2 might be very welcome news. This one tells the story of a group of young twenty-somethings who turn to a life of crime in order to fund their passion projects. It’s rooted in reality, but not without a bit of tongue-in-cheek humour, or over-the-top action.
Those looking to add this game to their collection will have probably realised that there are a number of different editions available to pre-order. We’ve got an overview of all of them for you to help make it easier for you to decide which one will be best for you.
The different editions of the Saints Row reboot available to pre-order are:
The Standard Edition of the game is available physically and digitally on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (though digital-only on PC). If you get this version, you’ll get the Idols Anarchy Pack as a pre-order bonus, which includes the following in-game bonuses:
You may see this version called “Day 1 Edition” too but it’s the same thing. Also, those shopping from Amazon UK will get an Idols face scarf as an extra bonus.
This version of the game is only available digitally. In addition to the Idols Anarchy Pack that’s included in the Standard Edition, this one also includes:
This edition comes with everything in the standard and gold editions, as well as one particularly juicy bonus: Saints Row: The Third Remastered. This edition can only be bought digitally, so bad luck for anyone who wanted a physical copy of the Saints Row: The Third Remaster.
If you’re a long-time fan, this’ll be a chance to re-experience an old favourite with a bit of extra spit and polish, and if you’re coming into the reboot as first-time player, this’ll be an opportunity to acquaint yourself with something of the series. With over 40 hours of content if you do everything, this is a generous pre-order bonus.
Unlike the last two editions that we covered, this one is actually only available as a physical copy on all platforms but PC. It’s almost like an edition that fits between the standard and gold editions. It contains the following bonuses:
If you wanted to get your hands on a physical edition that came with Saints Row: The Third as well, then you will have to get the Legacy Edition. This version is exclusive to Best Buy. It also comes with the following:
Although this version does not contain Saints Row: The Third, it’s potentially going to be the most appealing package to a lot of fans, because it contains all of the following:
The Notorious Edition is a GameStop exclusive in the US, and a Game exclusive in the UK (where it also comes with an exclusive bandana).
We hope that that helps you to decide which version of the game you’re going to get for yourself. If you’re excited to find out more about the game ahead of release, we have a guide on the Saints Row voice actors who will be appearing in the reboot, and the Saints Row reboot map size, for an idea of the scope of the world you’ll be losing yourself in.
